A: No. All the recommended small businesses are featured for free.

Q: Did you get the services or products for free?

A: No. I paid for the services and products for my dog. I did not receive anything for free because I wanted my reviews to be genuine and honest since I paid for it.

Q: How did you find the businesses on the RECS 4 PETS app?

A: Many of the businesses I used for my dog, Eddie. I found businesses through a Google search, driving around, and word-of-mouth.

Q: How did you decide which cities to feature pet businesses on the RECS 4 PETS app?

A: I lived in Los Angeles area - Arcadia- for nearly 8 years, and used quite a few of the businesses on the app from there. I moved to Las Vegas briefly for about 6 months and onboarded businesses while living there. Then I moved to New Braunfels, TX, and started visiting businesses. I added Purrniture in Minneapolis because a friend recommended it. I added Purrfectly Mobile in Denver after I saw them on Instagram.

Q: How do you know these are trustworthy businesses?

A: I used many of these businesses for my dog, Eddie. I met each owner or manager of each business, and visited each place of business to check out. I looked for cleanliness, regulations, and helpfulness/friendliness of staff. I looked through Yelp for any alarming red-flag reviews before even visiting so I didn't waste my time. I only put businesses that are real businesses on the app. If they're boarding, they are in an area zoned for boarding (if ordinances or laws apply). Trainers and groomers are certified.

A: NO! RECS 4 PETS is NOT a subscription.

Q: Why did you start the RECS 4 PETS app?

A: I wanted to help pet parents like me and save money. I also wanted to support small businesses by featuring them for free to help them reach new customers. Google can bury small businesses under sponsored ads.

Q: How did you come up with the idea for the RECS 4 PETS app?

A: When I was a kid, we sold "coupon books" for a fundraiser. They would cost $10, but would have hundreds of dollars of savings from local businesses. I wanted to have that same premise for the app. I wanted to be the one to write reviews because Yelp reviews are really good or really bad. There's no in-between, which confuses potential customers and is not useful to businesses. I added a pet-friendly event calendar because I would always go to pet-friendly events, and then tell my neighbors about them.

Q: Do you have dog-walkers or in-home pet-sitters on the RECS 4 PETS app?

A: NO! I do not have dog-walkers or in-home pet-sitters on the RECS 4 PETS app. I'm not the type of dog mom who uses those services. I can't recommend what I don't use. There are other apps for those services already in existence. I am not comfortable having randos walk my dog or come to my house. Plus, I only put businesses who are certified, have insurance, are in zoned areas if required, etc.
