I wanted to share an important update with you. After much consideration, I’ve decided to retire the RECS 4 PETS app from the Apple App Store and Google Play on Saturday, October 17th.

When I started RECS 4 PETS, my goal was to create a resource that benefited both pet owners and independent pet businesses. I wanted pet parents to have an easy way to discover quality, personally vetted businesses while giving small businesses more exposure without having to spend thousands of dollars competing for visibility through sponsored search results.

Since launching, the app has received over 300 downloads across Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Central Texas, an accomplishment I’m proud of!

However, I also recognize that times are changing. With so many businesses requiring customers to download an app, I think many people are experiencing app fatigue. My intention was always for RECS 4 PETS to be a useful resource where pet parents could quickly find what they needed, rather than another app designed to keep people endlessly scrolling.

Between the ongoing costs of maintaining a free app and the constant technological updates required to keep up with new devices and operating systems, continuing the app is no longer feasible.

But RECS 4 PETS isn’t going away!

I will be keeping my website, www.recs4pets.com, where your business profiles and links to your websites will remain available. The website has also been gaining visibility through search engines and AI-powered searches, including ChatGPT. I’ll be adding the exclusive discounts you’ve offered through the app directly to your website profiles so pet parents can continue taking advantage of them.

Eddie and I have the same color eyes. Only the sunlight reveals our true eye color. So I say we have solar eyes. Under normal light, our eyes look black.

Dogs mimic their human faces so I think Eddie thinks he’s Asian.
