It has taken years to get Eddie to lay next to me on the couch. He would lay by me but never touching. I could never pet him because he would always try to bite me. This week he got on the couch and purposely laid next to me and let me pet him and give him affection. I could savor this moment forever. I’m so proud of him and how far he has come. His anxiety-aggression has been a challenge all these years. But with love and patience and meds, he’s come around. He knows I love him and he’s the center of my universe. I know he loves me and would follow me to the ends of the earth. He had a rough start before me, but I will make sure he only remembers his time with me. He got through a bath this week without aggression too.
Don’t give up hope on your anxious, aggressive dog. It takes time but they can change. It’s worth every tear and heartache to get them to know they are loved, safe, and protected.

It’s never too early to take care of your dog’s joints. Supplements with glucosamine and chondroitin help with keeping the joints lubricated, prevent inflammation, and help with cell and cartilage renewal.
Give your dog elevated food and water bowls so they don’t strain their neck. Get a pet ramp to help them get up and down furniture so they don’t hurt themselves.
We use @nutramax_labs Dasuquin @dasuquin with MSM. I read an article from PetMD by @chewy about the benefits of MSM, ASUs and Botswellia extract working with the glucosamine and chondroitin. Plus Eddie actually eats it. I have to break it up over his kibble.
Alternative treatments like cold-laser therapy and acupuncture by a veterinarian can help with joint pain and arthritis in dogs. Many vet offices now offer both services.
Nutramax also makes Dasuquin for cats. Our friend, Minx, is over 20 years old and has been taking Dasuquin for cats for the last few year and she can keep up with her kitten brothers.
Check with your vet on the best course of supplement for your pet because health conditions and medications can be a factor.
